Practical Theology of Spirituality, A
Outline: Christians want to be spiritual people. We seek after a spirituality that is more than merely intellectual agreement with certain doctrines, a spirituality in which our personal relationship with Jesus Christ overflows into our personal lives. A Practical Theology of Spirituality explores the question of what spirituality is and how it can find expression in everyday life. Part 1 briefly reviews traditional views of spirituality and suggests an "incarnational" model to guide our thinking and our search for a rich personal spiritual life. Part 2 examines seven aspects of the spiritual life - each in both its inner aspect and its outward manifestation - and ways in which individuals develop spiritually. A "Probe" section at the end of each chapter in this second part presents action ideas, thought provokers, and suggestions for further reading.
