Five Views on Biblical Innerrancy
Overview: This book is a timely contibution showcasing a spectrum of evangelical positions on inerrancy and facilitating understanding of these perspectives, particularly of where and why they diverge. Each essays considers: the present context and the viability and relevance of inerrancy for the contemporary evangelical Christian witness; how certain views on the doctrines of God and inspiration, as well as truthfulness, stand behind the different understandings of inerrancy; and three difficult kinds of biblical texts, one that concerns intracanonical contradictions one that raises questions of theological plurality, and one that concerns historicity. This book serves not only as a single-volume resource for surveying the current debate but also as a catalyst both for understanding and advancing the conversation.
