Reformed Historical Theology, Volume 11 : Children of God - The Imago Dei in John Calvin and His Context
Overview: John Calvin had a keen interest in what the Scripture teach about the nature and faculties, as well as the role and responsibilities, of human beings. For him, the proper way to understand human beings way by considering them as they were created: in the image and likeness of God. The author examines Calvin's explanation of the image Dei within the times and ecclesiastical circumstances in which he lived. He aims at giving a satisfactory answer to the question of whether Calvin's teaching on the imago Dei can be considered one of the stronger or weaker points of his reformatory work.
