Vitality of Reformed Theology, The : Proceedings of the International Theological Congress June 20-24th 1994 Noordwijkerhout The Netherland
Overview: Reformed theology today seems to be subject to contrary developments. In some parts of the world the influence of modernist theological currents is on the increase, at the cost of the position of classic Reformed theology. In other parts - especially in the 'younger churches' - the interest in Calvinistics, Reformed theology is growing noticeably. In this context, having an international congress devoted to the vitality of Reformed theology, with representatives from a variety of churches and theological faculties from many countries, was nothing less than a striking event. The lectures held during this congress, brought together in this volume, dealt with four issues: the aims and method of Reformed dogmatics; the authority of Scripture as a prerequisite for Reformed theology; Reformed theology in its relation to the Christian congregation; and the responsibility of the Christian church in modern society.
