Complete Works of Aristotle, The : The Revised Oxford Translation - Volume Two
Outline: Originally published in twelve volumes between 1912 and 1954, this book is universally recognized at the standard English version. It is a valuable contribution to studies of Aristotle and is regularly referred to by scholars of all nationalities. Now Princeton University Press makes available the complete works in two volumes. The volume contain the substance of the original Translation, revised by the author in the light of recent research. Three of the original versions - Categories, On Interpretation and Posterior Analytics - have been replaced by more modern translations. A new and enlarged selection of Fragments has been added. A generous index provides indispensable aid to the scholar, as in the Bollingen one-volume Plato. The aim of this Translation remains the same as that of the first Oxford Translation : to make the surviving works of Aristotle readily accessible to English-speaking readers. All students of Aristotle will want to own this comprehensive work.
