Christianity and Islam : A MIssiological Encounter
Outline: To many, Christianity appears as a Western religion, and missionaries were sent only to export a certain form of Western culture, and not religion or God. In this title, the authors do not claim to have found out answers to all the questions, but they have tried to present the cases of two large world religions - Christianity and Islam. This explicitly, in their historical and theological contexts - to foster a better understanding between those who adhere to these two monotheistic religions, with an attempt to create an ambience of mutual trust and respect in the current political & competitive scenario. In Islam, Jesus Christ was accepted as a Prophet, and mention has been made of Moses, Abraham and some of the disciples of Jesus. Some mention has also been made of Mary, the Virgin Mother. The two scholars: Glory E. Dharmaraj and Jacob S. Dharmaraj have gone into the depths interrigation and have envolved this title in a truly missiological and theological perspective - it would surely help those persuing higher academics in Islamic Studies or in Theology.
