Pioneers of the younger churches
Outline: The establishment of the Christian Church throughout the world is due in large measure to its heroic local pioneers. But all too often we have overlooked these dedicated leaders, preferring, instead, to cast the spotlight on our missionaries. In this book Dr. John T. Seamands seeks to rectify this situation and to give due credit and praise to these national Christians - these men and women who sacrificed and toiled, suffered and died, that their own people might come to be Christians. The list is long; the fifteen described here are merely representative. They are indeed an interesting and variegated group. They come from high caste and low case, from rich parents and poor parents; from Christian homes and from non-Christian ones; from noble families and primitive tribes. Some were educated; others untutored, knowing only who to read and write. But all had one thing in common -- they could not keep quiet about their faith and led their people to the Christian life. Fifteen biographies that emphasize the role and contribution of national Christians in the development of Younger Churches in Africa and Asia. They demonstrate how God uses all types of people in the building of his Church. The Contents
