Outline : YOUNG'S ANALYTICAL CONCORDANCE TO THE BIBLE. Since its first publication in 1879, Young's Analytical Concordance has proven to be a valuable aid for Bible students. It contains more than 300,000 references and nearly five million words. About 12,000 Hebrew and Greek words are listed in separate lexicons. Unlike most other concordances, Young's groups each listing of words in the King James Version of the Bible both by the English translation, and by the Greek or Hebrew word underlying it. Thus each entry is a word study in itself. This newly revised and corrected edition of Young's contains The Universal Subject Guide to the Bible which indexes biblical themes and topics. A lengthy introduction by Donald Guthrie, lecturer in New Testament at London Bible College, explains the uniqueness of Young's and tells how to use this edition to establish a habit of meaningful Bible study. This edition of Young is cross-referenced to the numbering system of Hebrew and Greek words found in Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, and this numbering system has been added to the index lexicons. In preparing this new edition of Young's Analytical Concordance to the Bible, the editors have carefully checked each reference against the Bible and corrected more than three thousand errors and omissions. They have also rewritten more than sixty definitions of people and places, taking into account recent archaeological discoveries and current knowledge about biblical events.
