Outline: The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth familiarized itself with Christian Hebraism in the first half of the 16th century. So far, this theme has not been explored in English and is almost unknown to the international scholarly community. The author presents the development of modern Hebrew studies in Western Europe, describes the academic and religious level of scholarship of Hebrew in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and lists the Polish translations of the Hebrew Bible - the most significant result of the reception of Chris- tian Hebraism in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the Renaissance.
