Protestantism, which looks on the Bible as.. . the only authoritative voice of God to man.” After surveying the history of biblical interpretation, the author devotes seventy pages to explicating “the Protestant system of hermeneutics.” He then discusses the doctrinal use of the Bible and its devotional and practical use. Following a chapter on the
hermeneutical dimension of the problem of biblical inerrancy and secular science, he concludes with chapters on the interpretation of types, prophecy, and parables. Bernard Ramm, one of the most prolific and respected evangelical scholars of his generation, has written
over twenty books, most of them in the areas of theology and philosophy. Protestant Biblical Interpretation, his second book, has been translated into five languages. He taught at several Baptist colleges and seminaries.
