Studying Christian Spirituality
IN GENERAL, THE AIM OF THIS BOOK is to introduce the reader to the exciting and newly emerging discipline of Christian spirituality. In doing so, the aim is also to reshape some of the classical approaches to Christian spirituality (which are more focused on theology and the history of Christian spirituality), in order to develop a stronger link between spirituality and disciplines in the human sciences such as philosophy, psychology, history, sociology, phenomenology, hermeneutics, and anthropology.
