Bible and Ethics in the Christian Life : A New Conversation
Outline: The Bible and ethics in a critical time. The planet is changing rapidly, and these disruptions are throwing the globe further into crisis. The future of Christianity depends on whether it is able to face these challenges with a hopeful but urgent moral and social vision. Christianity continues to break away from its Western center as churches in Asia, Africa, and Latin America experience steady growth, primarily in Pentecostal, evangelical, and independent traditions. These dynamics have led many to conclude that we need a new way of thinking about our collective existence: who are we and how do we care for this deeply altered world? To address these and other questions, Bible and Ethics in the Christian Life offers "a new conversation" about the role of the Bible in the lives of Christians in search of social ethics attuned to the challenges and opportunities of our time.
