The future of Christianity depends on whether it is able to face these challenges with a hopeful but urgent moral and social vision. Christianity continues to break away from its Western center as churches in Asia, Africa, and Latin America experience steady growth, primarily in Pentecostal, evangelical, and independent traditions. These dynamics have led many to conclude that we need a new way of thinking about our collective existence: who are we and how do we care for this deeply altered world?
