Revolutionary Patience
Outline : There are some things in life so evil that when we meet them we only want to destroy them-like starvation or tyranny, excessive drink or drugs, sickness, hunger, old age and death, or a three-year-old with a fragment of a bomb in his head. Dorothee Sölle knows about them all and burns for change and revolution. But here feelings are tempered by patience. Sometimes we have to endure. Sometimes God actually uses the evil. And always for the Christian there is hope as he looks back to when Christ came and forward to when he comes again. These poems are prayers-very much like the poems and prayers of Amos, Isaiah and Jesus. They sing and sting their way into your heart and mind.
