Triune Relationality : A Trinitarian Response to Islamic Monotheism
Outline : For centuries, Christians and Muslim have debated the mature of the absolutely one? To promote interfaith dialogue, Christians must understand the history of the conversation and also articulate their dance in compelling ways. In this volume is the New Explorations in Theology series, Sherene Nicholas Khouri offers both historical and constructive responses to Islamic objection to the doctrine of the Theory. She considers arguments from Arabic Christian theologians and philosophers is the eighth to tenth centuries, primarily John of Damascus, Theodore Aba Qurrah, and Yahya Ibn Adi, then applies their insights to current theology and apologetics conversations. Khouri appeals to the common ground of God as the greatest conceived being, then argues that such a being must be relational in nature. While Christians today debate of the Trinity with each other and with Muslims, they can be confident that Christians throughout history have embraced belief in triune relationality.
